This is one of my original ties and is effective for both silver salmon & trout.

Hook: Gamakatsusalmon #2
Head: Black silk
Tag: Two turns flat silver tinsel
Tail: Amherst pheasant crest
Butt: Ostrich herl
Body: Claret floss tied full
Rib: Heavy oval tinsel with black palmered saddle hackle
Collar: Claret saddle hackle tied slightly down for wing
Wing: Sparse bunch of polar bear body hair or substitute
Topping: Amherst pheasant crest as long as the wing
