Default Midges

Here are some of the midge patterns I have been tying in size 18, 20 and 22. I recently purchased some size 24 hooks but haven't given them a try yet!

Very nice midges Larrythe green and red mercury ones look like night club neon signs...they should attract troutwhen you fish at night

Chris: Thanks! I was using TMC 2457 hooks, that was all I had. The replacements I ordered on-line are 2488.

That's good to know, because I have a Gazillion in variety of sizes and colors. It's one of my go to flies on the South Platte.

Cool I have both and some 2458's, I mainly use them for caddis , some midge, I will tie some of these up and give them a go. for the river midges Ill need to get my hands on some real small ones
