Default Sarasota Fishing...

The wife and I will be going to Sarasota this February for winter break. Where can I wet a line and have a good chance at some fish? Are there any shops in the area that rent kayaks? Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.

Dan

Hi Dan,

There is a bunch of fly fishing with a Kayak from Bradenton Down to Ft Meyers Beach. You will have a shot at Snook, Red Fish, Spanish mackerel, and jacks. Venice is famous for its Snook fishing. This is a good place to do night fishing for Snook under the lights. The Pine Island Sound is a great place to fish. Then then is the Sanibel Island JW Darling National Wildlife Refuge. You can rent kayaks here and is a nice place just to visit as well fish. You can also rent a canoe at just about any of the beaches along the bays.

Do a search on the any of these areas and you can find loads of information. With just a little scouting you will find fish at many different locations.

Frank
