Default Fly Fishing on the Toccoa River, GA

Lambster is finally back to guiding in Georgia following the house fire he had about a month ago. He is now back to guiding, thanks to the many generous FF gifts from the members of this forum, and much appreciated. Thanks to all those that helped out! Here are some photos of his first guided trip back to the Toccoa River, GA:

We had two clients for saturday morning, a father and son took to the stream with the Lambster who yes put them on the fish! We had a blessed day with a hatch of BWO's that came off at 1:45 just after the light rain, the trout started jumpin' and the fishin' picked up real good with Dad putting a 14 inch Rainbow in the net and I had the son fish under a bunch of low hanging tree's in which I knew that Browns tend to hang out....... then I heard him say fish on! He landed a 12 inch chuncky Brown trout that was camera shy so we were unable to get a good shot....... The hatch of BWO's lasted just about 20 minutes alot of nice fish came to the surface, a guide couldn't have asked for a better day! Larry thanks for posting them photo's! We won't have a computor that works like I had untill late July......... tight Lines!

Sounds like a great day out, always nice to have a hatch! Is that on the tail water?

i_throw_bugs: I believe that Lambster floats the lower Toccoa below Blue Ridge Dam.

Larry is correct that is the lower Toccoa River below Blue Ridge Dam.... they just repaired the Dam but fishing is tough right now till we get some rainfall plus the DNR starts restocking the tailwaters. We did have some good carry over Browns that survived the pull down.

I visit Blue Ridge a lot, but I live in Marietta. I've heard the fishing is picking back up on the Lower section, I haven't been able to get up there recently, but look forward my next chance. I've mostly fished the head waters, so I'm excited to give the lower section a try. Glad to see there are fish being caught!
