Default Waynesville Fly shop

I won a trip from Haywood county tourism for a half day trip with the Fly Shop. I just wanted to give them the thanks they deserve. I couldn't have asked for nicer People to have won a trip from. Gary helped me from the time i walked in the door answering every question i asked. Then Jason came in My Guide for the day and i was a lucky guy to have him as my guide it seemed he new everything about what we were doing. He wsa very instructional on the river. He put me in the fish and gave me the correct infomation when on the creek. He put fish in the net and not small ones either. If i was to ever go on a guided trip again in that area i would for sure go thru the Waynesville Fly Shop. I think that they are the Best Fly shop in the area. i have been to a few and they are the Best. Again thank you for your services i will tell anyone i meet to use them

Nice, I was going to fish that river but the generation flow wasnt good fishing so I headed up to the cherokee reservation. A fishing permit there is much cheaper for one day than a NC (or GA) license. I ended up with a nice catch but didn't get any experience on big water. The Tuckaseegee was actually featured in Fly fish America a while back but Im a bit behind in my reading.

Is it wadable? I passed it up in early June for GSMNP because I thought maybe the water was too deep to wade and that the temperature was too high.

i was in there when the water was on and i was able to walk across the river in chest waders i only have hips so going back out after my trip didn't happen. i only knew this cause my guide said we could and then we did. i walked up river and back and forth across the river. i lot of work but i enjoyed every second of it.i guess if your up to cold water you can go out with no wasders in the summer time .

Good to know that wading is fine on the tuck even with the water flow. I was wading in 3 feet of water and couldnt feel my legs. It was early summer and in the shade, maybe open water would be a bit warmer.

Thanks. There is SO much water that it is confusing where to go. A fellow I spoke to that used to live in Dillsboro used to fish the Tuck and says they pulled out some monsters- I just didn't know if it was wadable- I was mostly in GSMNP when I was there.
