Default small lake fishing in GA

I'll be in Atlanta during mid May and will be staying at a house that sits on a small lake filled with perch and small bass. The lake is usually roiled and dirty. When I was a boy, we used to catch fish (and snappers too!) just using cane poles and corn on a hook. My father has caught some fish lately using some spinning tackle but I wanted to fly fish it. Is this possible? I've never fished for anything other than trout before......do these types of freshwater fish take flies? What flies are the best to use? Wooly buggers and worms I assume? What else works?

thanks for any help and opinions

I have not personally done it but I've known some people to fish for bass with poppers (basically top water poppers for fly fishing, can pick them up at Walmart). Streamers and buggers would be your next bet. Growing up fishing on small ponds I've never known a pond fish to rise to a fly.

I fly fish only warm water, mostly ponds. Bream and bass WILL rise to dry flies. I fish a dry/dropper rig about 90% of the time.
Try it and you will have some fun.
