Default Pensacola Escambia River

Hi,

Heading across the states for Pensacola in a few weeks. The place we are staying is about a mile from where the Escambia River dumps into the bay / Gulf. Plan on hitting the Escambia with a kayak and a 5 wt & 8wy fly rod. Looks like that river this time of year is loaded with a variety of fish. Any suggestions on certain patterns? Any advice on what kinds of fish are biting this time of year?Just started tying my own flies and was hoping to stock up before heading down. Any advice is much appreciated. Also enjoy hitting the smaller creeks here in Oregon. Any good creeks around there for some fishing?

Thanks in advance!
Brian
