Default Re: New to Spey Fishing

Pretty short for a Spey, a switch rod if done with as a two hander. That said, one of my fav rods is a 6/7 11' three section Glass. Rod was built out for me by Steve Gotshall (Steve's most known for his custom cut spey lines, each is a one-off made specifically for a given rod/caster) and he and Bob Meiser nick-named the rod "The 88."

A reference to the WW2 German Artillery cannon. And it is all of that; a total delight to cast/fish.

Fiberglass rod not a Spey rod, just a single handed one.

Thanks for the mention of the Spey Nation event. Might just go there.

Spey Nation Spey Clave. Salmon River Spey Fishing Gathering

Looks similar as to the one I just attended in Sherbrooke, QC
