Default Tenkara Crappie/Bluegill

Had a few hours on Friday (Birthday off) and hit the local lake for some fishing. Started at noon and began by casting under trees and around the banks. Second cast (using a wet fly that was still kinda dry) had a crappie come up and blast the fly. Set on him and it was game on.

5 casts 3 fish, gonna be a good day! Worked down the bank to my honey hole area and the bluegill came to play as well. By 3:15 had a combination of 50 crappie and bluegill. Gave the ole Iwana a work out. Used a brown winged back wet fly for the shallow fish, once that slowed I tied on a hand tied Killer Bug and went deeper. The Killer Bug was great, watched it get hammered on the sink. Good start to year!

Cheers,
Craig
