Default WildTroutStreams.com Adds Midwestern Coverage

WildTroutStreams is a website that's been around since 2006 which provides resources to help fishermen find wild trout streams. It is a completely non commercial site. All data can be downloaded free and it does not accept advertising.

Recently it added midwestern coverage with initial datasets for IA, KY, MI, MN, MO, NE, WI. You can download KML/KMZ files which can be loaded into Google Earth/Google Maps/Bing/the National Map, etc. to display different kinds of streams and quality of stream habitat. The data can also be exported to your GPS by various means which are explained on the site.

There is also extensive coverage of western and eastern streams, and native trout. For example, if you're planning to go west and want to fish for wild, native-strain cutthroat trout, you'll find comprehensive and useful documentation for how to find them. However, we're not a "stream guide": we provide comprehensive datasets to encourage broad exploration.

I'm the webmaster of this site, so if you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them here.
