So I finally caught my first fish on a fly. It's a small Mayan cichlid but was still fun to catch. It was good practice for when I go fish for peacock bass, because they attack anything moving really fast. Got it on an olive and white Clouser Minnow, thanks Peregrines. Lately this week it's been really cloudy so the fish dont spook easily, hope to catch new fish so I can post some photo's of what we have here in S.Florida.

Great job- and WOW- that's a very handsome fish--- that's a new one for me- haven't seen one of those before. Just goes to show you never know what's going to decide to eat down there--- I bet those canals are jam packed with all kinds of stuff. It sounds like you're having a ball- good luck and keep those fish pics coming!

Dvdvukmanic- I'm extremely hooked on fly fishing , I've already started noting the bugs I've seen here by the lakes and canals already.

Peregrines- Definitely intend on posting new fish I catch down here, I would like to show everyone the insane diversity of fish we have here.

Thanks guys really appreciate the congrats. I'll keep posting new pics, wanted to ask if anyone knew of a fly that would imitate a lizard and maybe one of a mosquito?
