Default missed a huge smallie!

man I hooked into a huge smallie a few days but when he jumped out of the water it threw the hook!!!! it was bigger than all the others I have ever caught and big like the ones I have seen in the bob clouser smallie book I been reading! about 3 to 4 times as big as the ones in these pics if not more! thought I had a carp at 1st until it jumped out the water! it was at least 3-5 pounds or so for sure! oh well better than never hooking it! at least I know now that there are lunkers out there! lol
here is some pix to catch up since i haven't posted much! enjoy!!!

I have a lot of luck catching decent smallies here in Niagara Falls using Clousers. Chartreuse over Yellow seems to be the trick here.

McFly: I know your pain, I lost a several very large trout this last weekend to the same thing, aerial battle and the fish spits the hook, but the fight will be remembered for a long time even though I didn't get to land the fish.

You should see the Smallmouth I catch where I live. Every year I get at least one in the 20" or better zone and most run 16 or 17 inches. This year was the exception so far with my biggest at 19". If you look at my avatar, that fish was #7 of 7 fish in seven casts. The smallest was 17". Up till the last couple of years I pretty much had smallies to myself. Everyone around here has a Walleye fixation. I'd post a picture, but they still haven't turned back on the little paper clip attach photo function and I have not put any Smallie photos in my album or in photobucket. I miss the little paper clip. I guess it just made things to easy. And by the way, I caught the fish in the avatar in the park in town.
