Hi everybody, caught this one on a large pond very close to where I work in Montgomery Alabama. Was using a modified medium size popping bug. I didn't have a measuring tape with me but the cork handle is 7 1/2". I put him back after the photo shoot, so that maybe I can fight him in again someday.

Joni: Nice work with the Go Pro! That guy was putting up a fight, I think you're going to need a bigger net. How the heck do you find those secluded out of the way fishing locations, must take a lot of bush whacking to get there.
