What party of the Mississippi? The Missouri is right next to me. I wonder of I could land some of these species on my river...

Southeastern Minnesota.

There's only one way to find out. Where along the Missouri are you? Towards St Louis it's a huge river that would likely humble even the most well seasoned fly angler.

I'm north of kc. It's a huge river there, as well. I'm not so sure it's as plentiful with fish as the Mississippi is. In fact, as I look at these pictures I'm starting to get jealous of the mississippi fishery...

first Bowfin on popper fly, usually catch this fish on streamer...

i've caught some big bass this year, early on, but this has been my "back to basics" fishing this summer. loving every minute of it...no pressure, just having fun casting the 3wt. to the fiesty little fish
