New rod, pics to come

Today, I am the proud owner of a LaCrosse Custom 7ft. 2wt rod that's gonna be used to irritate some pond bluegill and crappie! I'll post some pics when she arrives. I'm thinking about putting an Okuma Vashon or Redington Drift reel on there. I was looking at some Orvis Silver label or Sage Performance Taper line. The rods have some good reviews and for the price, it was hard to beat!

A quick update: I purchased a new LL Bean Pocket Water reel to put on there.

The reel came today and the rod came yesterday. I did the famous "wiggle test" and the combination feels like a winner. For the price range, the rod feels and looks great. The Pocket Water reel looks right at home when coupled to the rod and gives it a great balance point. After some careful imaginary casting, the little combo seems like it will be a great addition to my collection.

This little guy will be my panfish and small bass rod for the ponds down the road. There's some big bluegill and crappie in there. Possibly a catfish or two as well.

If I'm feeling adventurous enough there's a couple creeks I know that have rock bass, chubs, and little smallies.
