It is quite amazing the plethora of game fish right in the backyard of a lot of the residents of Miami.

I have to give it to the carp. For me, they are readily available, awesome fighters, and a blast to stalk and sight fish for.

I grew up a trout fisherman. When I moved to VA and lived along the Shenandoah River, I transitioned to river smallmouth (AKA Bronze Trout). A 2 or 3 lb. river smallmouth is hard to beat. Now that I live in Ohio, I have become more of a largemouth and panfish guy for 70% of the time. I rediscovered smallmouth in nearly every local creek and stream and now recalling all of the patterns that Harry Murray taught me to tie, particularly Murray's Marauder (white), and Murray's Strymph (olive or black), and Shenk's White Minnow.

Great question!

Yep, river smallies for me

nobody said Pike??? Only 1 mention I saw of Muskie...I'd think these two toothy monsters would be on more lists. We keep trying to plant pike here in Ca but DFG always tosses rotenone in the lake and screws things up. (that's a joke)
