Talking Cold Weather-But Big Gill

It was cold and windy 51temp and 18mph but still wanted to go fly fishing for some Gill's so I used my trusty old # 14 nymph and He pretty good. Caught 15gill's and a few bass nothing big tho. This Gill ran and ran for a split second I thought I had a carp on lol but figure I didn't. This is a Big Gill but didn't have a scale nor a tape measure. My hand's only reached alittle over his top fin's and maybe 14inches. IDK!

Looks like a nice one!

Cold & windy here this evening, too. Caught 1 gill & decided that was all the fun I could stand for one day, so I went back to the truck and thawed my fingers out enough to feel the steering wheel.

Nice Gill! Welcome to the forum, NJ has plenty of fish to chase on the fly.
