Figured a "muddy water" string needed a bit of mud. Here's my 2 sons (oldest with fish, youngest (feet) with camera) with a decent alligator gar. Note the mud on Thomas' had. He'll do what it takes to catch a fish. Water is chocolate milk colored.

We catch these in a flood control area with lots of mud and fluctuating water levels. When it gets hot, I mean hot for a long time the gars come up gulping air. It's quick sight casting. We figure about 10 bites per hook up.
