Default New Popper Designs

I know I've mentioned on here elsewhere that I have been designing and testing flies and poppers for years. I create about 2 dozen new designs each year, and about a half dozen catch fish regularly enough to sell. These are some of my latest tested creations. Someday I will get the courage to post some of my mad scientist inspired designs.

Very nice work! You must be using an air brush to get those bodies looking so good.

I do use the airbrush more and more these days as I learn to control it. I am always experimenting with materials, colors, layering techniques, etc. The ones that look really bad, get a fresh coat of black paint and become very productive poppers

Thanks. It truly is a labor of love that I am passing on to my children as my grandfather passed on to me. Liam's Frog is my 12 year old son's work. I think he is on his way to being a pretty good designer.

I picked up one at bps in nashville that looked alot like the second one, it has a neat hole tube to shoot water over the top. I got a hit from a striper a week ago on it, but no good hook up. sounded really funny in the air.. whistling as it passed by. these poppers look awsome

Wow, that Liam's Frog is impressive work by a 12 year old, I'm sure you are very proud!

My 4 year old grandson loves tossing poppers at smallmouth bass.

What size poppers does your grandson toss? I could send you a few untested patterns. If he catches fish with them I can use it in my advertising, "So good, even a 4 year old can catch fish with them."
