First warm water fly fishing trip.

My Neighbor Terry bought a kayak and I inflated my pontoon boat and we hit Galla lake in Arkansas this morning and we had a blast. We were the only two people fishing this water shed where gas motors aren't allowed. I must have caught 30 Blue Gill before it got too hot. I was over gunned using my Orvis Trident 8 wt 9'0" rod and the blue gills were hitting a white popper on almost every cast. I probably missed the hook up two out of every three strikes. Terry was using an ultra light spinning rod and different color jigs and he caught a lot of fish including one pretty nice Bass about 13 inches.

I forgot to mention that because this is water shed there are no houses are on the lake and in my mind it's one of the prettiest lakes in Arkansas and only 5 miles from my house. I plan on spending a lot of time on that lake especially in the fall when the weather cools down. In the heat of the summer I think Terry and I will be fishing it in the evenings instead of the mornings.
