Default Carp fly fishing report

Late report but wanted to go fly fishing and really catch these fish. Normally I would catch one or two on dry flies but tied some streamers up and went to test them. Well when I got there I was more then pleased with these Rocky Mountain Bonefish. And pretty impressed with catching these numbers.
They were a riot!

Ended up catching 7 on my 5wt.

Some awesome full scale specimens there! I want to hook up with them again... haven't caught any since I was in South Africa... I just have to drive 3 hours to get to them and I have far too many lakes in that range that I really wanna get to... nice pics again!

That is impressive, very nice going, on a 5 wt at that! Congrats!. I have been wanting to do some carp fishing but trout just seem to be getting in the way.

Nice mirrors. I've only caught a couple in the hundreds of carp I've caught on the fly rod, but a nice mirror is a real bonus. Still looking for my first leather carp.

Post Re: Carp fly fishing report

FYI, all of these Carp mentioned, the leather, the few scale, the mirror are all slight aberrations of the Common Carp. Most importantly they are really great fly rod quarry! Good discussion and nice pics!
