Default Re: Best line for lake and pond fishing?

For a floating line, I use the Cortland 444 Peach WF5F. I don't do as much fly fishing as I used to, but it has still lasted well over 5 years. For deep water trolling, I use any full sink line. In each case I use a 6 foot furled leader with about 5 feet of whatever tippet I need. If you're going to be fishing nymphs in shallow water, I would use a floating line with a tapered mono leader with a 4-5 foot flourocarbon tippet.
