Default New species for me

So I was done by the river again, this spot is becoming addictive... and given that it is so hot here at the moment I see no better reason to leave the trout and work on getting to know this water a little better. I am fast learning where the structure is, how the currents work (there are 2 and they flow in opposite directions) and the effects that the weather has...

So I had my 9wt and my 5wt rigged up to target some pike and walleye, I switched about rods a good few times and ironically I had a pike tear off my walleye rig and hooked a nice walleye on my pike rig before he shook off...

And then I caught this scrapper... he put up a nice fight and added to my species list which I was quite happy with.

twfitw: Nice going, did you happen to catch him while on the 5 wt?
Always nice to add a new species to the list of fish landed.

Yep, was on the 5wt, bouncing a fly which I don't know the name of, along the bottom... but I tied it up based on the recommendations of one of the guys on my local club forum, basically a minnow immitation with white rabbit fur...
