Default Hawaii Peacock Bass

Some pics from last season. The Peacock bass fishing action should start picking up in a few months.

I'm starting to guide for peacocks bass here. If anyone is taking a vacation to Oahu. I have a 16' Action Craft flats boat. The rate is $380 for 8 hour day. I don't have a web site so please e-mail me for info. jessecheape@gmail.com

Welcome to the forum! Very beautiful fish, congrats!
I have no idea how to catch Peacock Bass on a fly rod, are you using streamers?

Cool - I used to have a few of those cichlids in a 265 gallon aquarium. They were relatively "mild" for a cichlid in terms of aggression, but anything that fit down the hatch was food .

Beautiful pics!

Thanks for the welcome. For our peacocks a 6wt is good rod. They don't make huge runs. You can use streamers, clousers or any type of baitfish pattern working the banks and structure. You can also sight fish for spawning fish.

Nice Peacocks! They are so much fun to fish for! Are they on the beds all year like the ones we catch in Miami?

No they are not on the bed all year here. Usually around March they start through out the summer.
