1st outing with a new rod
I finally got a chance to go to the river for the first time this season and try out my new biii-sx. I put on a boogle amnesia bug and started fishing. I caught a small rock bass on the first cast. I also caught a small bluegill. Then, about 20 minutes later, this fat smallmouth (pretty big for this river) decided to take my popper. I fought it for a while and finally managed to land it. So glad spring is finally here!

Congratulations Carson!
I had no idea you were a young fellow until I saw your picture. it's always a great thing to see the next generation of fly fishers coming along. I'll be watching for your posts now. Ard

Very nice smallie, really helps set the temper on a new rod when you catch a nice fish on the first outing...

We don't have Small mouth Bass over here just Native ones. I bet that one tested your new Rod out as it looks like it had a bit of grunt to it. Brian.
