Default Smallmouth creek adventure

Well today I got off work early and with some sunshine for a change I decided to head to my secret creek in search of some elusive smallmouth. I was excited as usual upon arrival to see my slice of heaven with nobody around.....

I was using a small crawdad fly sight fishing for cruising smallies, I managed to get a few decent fish to hand.

That one is a green sunfish. They hybridize readily, as well.

Those creek shots with the smally's are awesome. I would love to have a little of that around here.

Nope, not a pure green sunfish. Fin coloration says green sunfish, but body coloration does not and the mouth isn't big enough. Like you say, green sunfish hybridize with other sunfish, including bluegill, and I suspect it's hybrid between a green sunfish and another sunfish, perhaps a redear.
