I gave up fishing frogs. I was afraid some day a kid would witness a big bass swallowing up for little Kermit. Who knows what psychological damage that could cause.

yes it is the mini mag! i use s.a. titan taper and i can cast out around 70ft. but dont need to for my type of bassin. plus the longer the cast the slower the hook sets...for me at least.

70 ft should be enough. No bass here, but for pike big distance is not always required.

How is the feel of the mini mag, i've heard it's a broomstick unless you overline it with 2 sizes?
Really like the point and shoop concept with accuracy, but sometimes a little more distance comes in handy.

the titan taper is 1 size heavier i believe and it loads the rod great! i would go with either the titan taper, outbound short...or if you really want to load it up get the sage LM line. the rod is far from a broomstick and very accurate.

Currently fishing with a tfo clouser rod. But i am into those shorter rods.
Thinking of selling this one and replace it with the mini mag 6-8.

im sorry i mis-typed....if you get the tfo mini 6-8 and buy sage line get the smallmouth line. i just set my buddy up with a tfo mini 6-8 and sage smallie line. he cant believe how well it casts! its all he wants to bring now

Wish we had such bass over here.
Difficult choice. Better test cast the mini mag at the local tackle shop.

Any negative aspects about thhe rod?
