I have an Echo Ion reel and LOVE it. The drag is great and it feels like a high quality reel. Its pretty big, which i dont mind, but you may be different. Mine is a 6/7 wt but i use it for 9wt and my Sage Bass rod.

Nice. Bass don't require much and they certainly don't care what brands you have.

Agreed. I just wanted something in the middle of the road I don't need a 800 sage rod, but at the same time I don't want the wal mart special 40 $ out the door for rod reel line leader and a couple of flies if that makes any sense?
