If I'm not mistaken the quality of Goodwin Granger is a little better than the mass produced post war Japanese rods

ok yea the rod is exactly 8ft long. So maybe I just need to play around with some different types of line. Right now it just has some plain old Hobbs Creek WFF 6wt line.
