A warmwater discharge in the Susquehanna river. Snow on the ground and below freezing air temps, but I was standing in warm bath water! LOL

I'd have almost been tempted to keep and mount that fish. Just so you could tell the midwest boys "Here in in Pa. We use one weights for our muskies." Pussies! ROFL!

boz,

You nailed it, my friend! That pic was taken one mile downstream from Brunner's Island. The water is still bath tub warm even a mile downstream.

Dec, Jan, and Feb are great with a fly rod all around Brunner's.

Speaking of Arctic Blast's............... The snow (otherwise known as 'Termination Dust') creeps further & further down the Chugach Range every day. I wanted to go fishing today but decided to spend some quality time with my wood pile. We have no snow here at home yet but the reality is that it could happen any day and I have to be ready. It'll be awhile until the ice takes the rivers and I'll have a few more days on the water but for now, I must work getting ready for the winter....................

Nice fish Rick,

Ard

Ard,

Always remember, Ard, that you are living in paradise! You could make a lot more money in NY as a stock trader ........ but you have something better than just money?

Chopping wood, good healthy exercise, is such a wonderful thing to spend time on!

And the fish you catch in that pristine paradise! You made a great career choice, dude!

Brunner is one of my favorite December , January haunts ! Try to get there at least 4 or 5 times during those months. I just wish they would open the parking up by the plant( near the hybrid hatchery) . That's one of my favorite January spots and with a long drive just to get there I could do without the long walk! Amazing the amount and variety of fish that hole up there!

Rick,
Do you have snow on the ground in York, or are you somewhere else ?
I'm just east of you and we've seen no snow. I'm confused.

Keith,

No, no snow, just this cold spell for the last three days.

The trout was in Muddy Creek, just south of us, and all the rest were from the warmwater discharge at Brunner's Island, just north of us.

I posted a couple pix of fish I caught last winter. I kinda like fly fishing with snow on the ground?
