Default See that 6wt bend!

My "homestretch" has finally gotten down to prime flows. It should be good now thru September aside from the brief thunderstorm blow outs. I went out twice last week and was treated to a larger average size from years past! I cant wait to spend the rest of my summer out here!

Heres a poor quality video of an average smallie. A couple dozen of these put a serious bend in the ole 6wt! I may need to recruit the 7wt for these fish

Nice footage Jay!

If that's an "average" smallmouth, I'd take em all day.

WOW! Nice fish! I wouldn't call that video "low quality" at all! Keep em coming.

Jay: The rivers here in western Wyoming are also just dropping down to prime shape following the long spring runoff, we should have some superb fishing through Oct. Nice work on the video and that was a beautiful Smallie!
You are in for some fun this summer.

Great video! A couple dozen? Sheesh! That would be a career day for me!

Also, I think its great that people are largely starting to getaway from unnecessary "lipping" of fish. Seems much more conducive to a successful release. Great job!

It really is a treat to have this river 30 minutes away. I wish the season was longer. As always, I lost a couple flies to pike and musky over the 2 days. I might consider pursuing them with wire but they aren't really big or abundant enough to chase all day. Especially with the bounty of smallies, who do not like wire leaders.

I have hooked and lost two smallmouth that were much bigger than anything Ive ever seen in this river! One of which cartwheeled thru the air to grab my popper that was every bit of 5#! How I wished Id had the gopro on!!!

I'll continue to document some of these outings. The topwater action will only get better and I'll get some nice footage

Heres a teaser from last year...
