Some days the bite is just better than others. Yesterday was one of those days. Prespawn bite was sick. Had 8 or 9 fish in the net that were 17" plus. Biggest was an 18".

All fish were released right where they were caught.

That wouldn't happen to be the Huron would it? I fish it on occasion each summer during a family reunion trip.

Pretty much every day which doesn't end with physical injury or substantial financial loss is hard to top.

Remember, how fully you live your life is directionally proportional to the number of trips to the ER. Like Tim Taylor, I've often felt that I should have a coffee mug there with my name on it.

Sure. You can see what I caught the 18" fish on, just a plain old black bead head bugger. They liked them dead drifted.


Other times Schultz Outfitters "Swingin' D" produces, and when it warms up I'll switch to boogle bugs.

Perhaps I'll just have Ard change the title of this thread to "this season will be hard to top". BTW all these fish were caught on cutthroat furled leaders.


Had another great day. Over 25 fish to the net between my buddy and I. A few 20's.
