I meant for your next fly only use one quarter of the volume of fibers you used on your pictured fly.

Math is a challenge today....

So your saying that I need to see my hand through the fly when it is done? Or see my had through fibers as to the amount everytime I put some on the hook? I made another one but I don't think it is right. It is still to thick. I will try again.

Here's some example flies I found online that show what I describing, notice how easy it is to see through them that if you were to hold you hand behind it you could easily see it. It's alright to be a bit thicker in the head area to push water, but the body needs to be thin.

The fly will be more responsive to movement when it's thin and I think it does a better job of trying to camouflage and illicit more strikes.

Thumbs up Re: Ep-Fiber bait fish patterns?

Here is a couple I just got done doing. Tell me what I need to fix or not fix. Thanks. I think the blue one is still a little to much. I like the green one. I think it turned out pretty good. I was afraid to do much trimming. Kinda looks like a streamer type fly.

Love the olive streamer....That thing will hunt for sure!

Ya I'd say you could cut your fibers down by half now. Tye another ultra thin and swim it in the water than switch to your thicker flies and you will see the difference in the water.

It's something you have to get the hands on feel for. What fish are you hunting with these?

These always ride HPU (hook point up), look a live, and have little trouble with hook wrappingClick the image to open in full size.
