What about leader lenth and stripping speed? I,m trying to look at every thing before My next crack at the bass. If you can think off any common mistakes to do with bass let me know.

Sure you'll catch bass on a variety of streamers but for real fun throw poppers. All colors will work. I let mine sit until the rings around the fly get to about 4 ft then strip in short lengths to move water. Vary the speed, length and numbers of strips then let it sit again. Most often... after it sits for a second or two, the fish will slam it as soon as you go to move it again. I'd rather catch one bass on top water than 5 below the surface. Its very exciting to see them slam a popper at the surface. I wouldn't recommend it as much during the middle of the day but a few hours in the mornings evenings and even in complete darkness, topwater is a blast. Personally, I don't think leader length matters too much. Doesn't have to be that long. Def. vary your strips (length, speed and number between rests) until you find something that seems to work well. There is no full proof plan that works all the time. I tend to do 2-3 strips then let it rest and repeat. Good lucka and take some pics!
