Default Hckf 2

Squeezed in a short trip on a Sunday afternoon. Scenery was better than the catching, but it beat the hell out of diapers and TV.

On the way, shame Willie's no longer there weekly-

But TX Sunfish are kinda aggressive. That's a size 4 conehead streamer with a zonker strip-

Note to self, take more time and better pix next trip.

Yep, just hard to make time with a 6mo baby at home.

This trip was a bit more fun- http://www.theflyfishingforum.com/fo...reds-8863.html

Cliff,
Is that in Helotes. I used to take my kids there on Sunday afternoons when I was a resident in the early 80's. Had the best Tamales I ever ate. also check out my thread about Lake Gilmer and give me a shout if you know anything. Nice photos.

That is indeed in Helotes. Haven't eaten there yet, may have too.

I know nothing about lake Gilmer. Fish Bones/Steve is likely to though. Texas Fishing Forum - discussion, tournaments, guides, events, destinations, and more. is a pretty good resource.

Thanks Cliff,
My daughter, who is a lawyer in New Orleans, and expecting her first child and my 3rd grandchild was 4 years old, and we would go out there on Sunday afternoon, eat tamales, and dance and have a few brews. At least once a month, Willie would show up and sit in with the band. They would let a few of us sit in too, back when I could actually play the fiddle. It was a real hoot watching kids from 3 to 93 all dancing the 2 step on the same concrete dance floor.
