Default Lake Gilmer , Texas fishing report

My son and I spent the day Saturday on Lake Gilmer in Texas. Water was 61 degrees with this last cold front, so the beds by mid-day only had males on them, and they had severe lock jaw. We threw everything we had at them, but not only would they not bite, but we couldn't even snag one. We caught 6 bass, all under the 18 inch minimum for that lake, and my son caught his first bass on a fly, so it was a great time. I was glad that he and his wife got to come home for Easter. We also boated about 7 or 8 redear bream that hit poppers later in the day in about a foot of water. Overall a good day but still a little cold for topwater.
