Default Re: This past weekend

I wouldn't call this a damsel fly or dragonfly nymph. I guess it would be closely related to a minnow...of sorts.

I tie this with a 14-8 streamer hook (usually 10 since that is what I have most of) I tie the bead chain eyes on, then, wrap the hook with chenille making a bulge right behind the eyes. I then take a piece of mylar tubing, pull out its guts, fold in half and poke the eye of the hook through it. I wrap it behind the eye, pull the tubing forward tie in some hackle (the hackle is my latest addition, I caught plenty before the hackle was added.) and wrap that toward the end, then pull the tubing back again and finish it off. I fray the tubing for a tail/skirt. It actually took longer to type what I did than to actually tie it. I've used many different color eyes, chenille bodies, tubing, etc. here is another one I have posted a long time ago. (This one doesn't have the hackle and may be a bit easier to see what I did.)
