Arizona White Mountains Trout

I recently Fished the White Mountains of Arizona. I love these mountains and and the exotic Apache trout that the fishery offers. I pulled this trout of a heavily bait-fished C&#$c#%t lake at around 9000' elevation that was in full spawn. Got him on a Big Black Leech.



Yes that net is no good for C&R but it was the only net nearby. It was about 16'' and the hardest fighting trout I have ever pulled out of water. Yes, Arizona has some good trout, so go buy a Arizona Fishing license!

yes he is a football of a brook trout, and a couple year old stocker in a very healthy nutrient rich lake. This fishery is only 4 hours from Phoenix and Tucson

i heard that C&#$c#%t lake had a big fish die off this year..thats what i read on azfg report..did you catch that in 2010??

I'm here in AZ and hope to get up to some of those small streams to catch some apaches. Got a 7" 3 wt set up just waiting for me to decide where and when to go.
