Thanks.....he's Walter's little bro, only 24" or so.
The cool thing is, I caught him 3 years ago, same spot.
(Check out the two ringed spots by the eye and one in the blue.)
He's the fish I use as my avatar.
And he did not enjoy seeing me again....

Great thread bigfly... I just recently got into fly fishing and have been trying my hand up at Hobart Reservoir. It has not disappointed and is everything that I remember from when I was a kid fishing with my dad. I need to venture out and try different waters, and seeing as I live in Carson City it would probably be easiest to hit the NV side of the truckee. However, the wife and I regularly camp in north Tahoe, anywhere around the Tahoe City side that you can recommend within a short drive?

Greg, thanks....
The surface release out of Tahoe is around 74+.
Not good for fishing, or more accurately, the fish.
Go lower in the canyon towards Reno.
Fish bubbles/shade.
Get a good drift, these guys are good.
Good luck....

Jim

BigFly, that is one of the prettiest browns I have seen in awhile. Outstanding fish!
