Default Middle Provo River, UT - 03/26/2013

Fished the Charleston Bridge area of the middle Provo River this afternoon from 12:00 - 4:00p in search of lake-run rainbows and Blue-winged Olives... neither showed, but I did come up with a few browns in the 14-17in range high-sticking a Prince/Hydro combo.

Nymph box... stuffed, ready for action... row's 1 and 2 all the way to the right did the damage today.

Best fish of the day... a stream-lined 17" brown that made me give chase!

Water was low (<130 CFS @ Heber) and clear... perfect for high-sticking.

Nice report and pics, sten. I really like the prince nymphs tied with the zelon wing. I noticed no snow there, is that unusual for this time of the year?

Good question. That particular area is probably right around 6000 feet ASL... and this is only my third winter/spring since moving here;
--Mar, 2011 - lots of snow along the banks (record winter of 350% snowpack)
--Mar, 2012 - no snow (drought winter, ~65% normal snowpack)
--Mar, 2013 - no snow (near normal snowpack, ~93%)
