Whittakers has fly of the week on their web page for whatever that is worth.

Are you going up there for the first time without a guide ?

Basic egg patterns are a must have , that much I do know.

plan on losing a few also ...........

This past spring we fished a single pink egg with a red dot. My guide provided them and they worked. I have a couple dz. tied now , had some estaz in different colors but he said don't bother. This fall/winter. I am swinging flies with the 2 hander. I had better call and ask what to tie. Good thing you reminded me. I have a feeling it is more about the presentation than what's on the end of the line. Would your guide happen to be Pat ?

Also , by winter time the salmon are mostly gone and so is the Picadilly Circus that follows them Thank God.

I cant be of much help with my limited experience , but I do have a recommendation . I would get a map book and start getting to know where the tribs/creeks are located in the event the Salmon is off.

I am a experienced fly guy too , but not on the Salmon and for winter Steelhead. Hopefully , your man is .....

Can't help with your question... I just think it's great that your going, and posting here on the forum. My 11 year old son and I are going for the first time in early November.

I hope you have fun and catch some big fish!

Todd
