Florida Permit need your help!

The Bonefish & Tarpon Trust needs your help to fix Florida permit fishing regulations.

The debate over proposed new regulations on fishing for permit (both sport and commercial) in Florida continues, with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission set to vote on proposed regulations at their meeting in Pensacola on September 2.

After studying them carefully, the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust state that the proposed new regulations are potentially worse than what is now in place. Please contact the FWC Commission to let them know they need to take a responsible approach to permit fisheries management by following their suggested course of action below.

Hi Everyone, If you fish Permit in Florida or hope to in the future you need to respond to the FWC rules for Permit. Without the proper protection the fishery can be seriously damaged. Permit did well until fisherman learned they could catch them over wrecks, not fly fishers. I think that every year more and more Permit are being harvested and we don't know how many can be harvested with out damage to the fishery. The Bonefish and Tarpon Trust is doing good work and we should support there recommendations. I have sent an Email with the BTT recommended paragraph and added my own comments. I hope you do the same. Frank

Can anyone tell me the manufacturer of the reel in the picture of the Permit on the forum home page ? thanks, JMF
