Default Re: what are your priorities when buying a rod?

do you find fly rods generally too expensive?

No, you get what you pay for. There are fly rods sold for $30 at Walmart, they just won't compete with a more expensive rod.

is location of the manufacturer important to you?

No, if a company makes a good product and has decent pricing I dont mind where it is made.

would you try a new brand of rod, and if so, what would compel you to try a new brand?

Yes, newer technology or good deals often accompany new companies as they try and get a foot in the industry.

would you purchase a rod online?

Only if I had casted the exact rod with the exact line before hand.

what is your number one complaint about fly rods in your experience?

Cork grips coming apart and guides coming off of the rod.
