There is a fly we use here in western ,Pa that is very deadly, it is similar to your fly but without the tail and dubbing. It's called the North Fork Spider red thread tied with badger hackle very simple and works awesome. It was the first dry fly pattern I was taught at a Trout Unlimited fly tying class. I'll be tying a couple more up this week for the up coming trout season, and I'll try to post it on here.
