Will be experiencing a few firsts in about 10 days. I'm an avid fresh water fly fisherman. Live in Pa. And have fished in streams only. Was invited to join a group going to deep sea fish in Port Alexandrea and staying at the Laughing Raven Lodge. Questions; has anyone been there and can provide a brief review? What can I expect weather and temperature wise? Any issue with insects at this time of year?

I'm a long ways from your destination but will hazard a guess to your question. At sea you should have no insect worries at all but given the Islands many small bays and ponds I'd expect some skeeters on the shore especially in undeveloped terrain, the higher the bush the more the bugs.

Weather? It's Southeast Alaska so all bets are off, I would however be taking my best gore tex jacket because Southeast is where the rain forests are at and they call them that for a reason.
