A friend and I fished the Lower Yuba River for American Shad. We parked his drift boat in two feet of water. Here was what was right below his boat.

We fished about five different sections and got fish everywhere. Sometimes they were finicky. Sometimes they just did not care. Heck. I hooked up one dead drifting a red Copper John under an indicator while I was targeting Rainbow Trout off the boat.
My highlight of the day was after the drift. My goal of the evening was to get a trout on a dry fly. It has been months since that happened. I got two. One was a 14". The other was an 18". It was caught on a #14 Anderson's Bird of Prey Emerger in tan.
