There’s fly fishing, and fish flying, with NH aerial pond-stocking program

ABOVE LONESOME LAKE, N.H. — Some New Hampshire ponds and lakes are so remote, the only way anglers can get to them is by hiking for miles through the woods. But the fish? They arrive by helicopter.
Thanks to the state Fish and Game department’s aerial stocking program, there’s plenty of fly fishing — and fish flying — in even the most secluded spots. In one day last week , more than 114,000 fish were dropped in 48 locations, from Lake Solitude in Newbury to Boundary Pond in Pittsburg, along the Canadian border.

I've fished a bunch of these ponds in NH.
The ones in the more popular hiking areas are the best known and therefore receive the most pressure, no matter how difficult to get to.
The pond that I fished most often was on a trail that went "nowhere". No special views and no great elevation gain.
At some point when the trail must have been more of a skid road, someone had driven a tin boat up there. All you had to do was find a stout branch to pole around the pond and something to bail with.
Great place to fish.
