Hewitt Creek flows from the Lake where we have our cabin. It receives salmon runs and is home to trout & char also. I tied these flies for use there because I thought the place needed its own pattern. It seems that the fish will take whatever I use but I enjoy using something I know they have never seen before.

That's the beauty of fly tying, you the tier have the power of creation when you get to the vise.

Ard: Very nice looking fly and cool idea to name it after the creek near your cabin.

It was cool looking flies like this that made me want to start flyfishing and tying 30 years ago! Thanks for sharing, Ard.

Hey guys,

Thank you for being so nice. I like looking at flies and I like creating them also. I picked up some new burnt orange holographic tinsel and having never owned or used anything like it before set about tying up a group of flies with it. Based on previous use of orange & black patterns I figured the new combination should work just fine.

When the ice goes out I'll have my chance to find out.

Thanks again fellas, I appreciate your generous compliments.
