Whipray Caye looks interesting, I know it's remote and spartan but it's all about the permit and tarpon. Has anyone fished here? What size are the tarpon during July,August?

I've never fished from Whipray Caye, but I've been going near there for over 15 years. I usually stay at South Water Caye.

That whole region is great. The Bones are smaller than some regions, but the Permit and Tarpon make up for it. The Permit are the real draw; plenty of them and good guides in the region.

I love that area. Good people, good food, and lots of great fishing. Here's a Queen Snapper I caught last summer in 900' of water. I took an afternoon off from chasing Bones and tried the depths with an electric reel. Great eating!
