Default A few pictures from Belize trip

[IMG]]Click the image to open in full size.[/IMG] The top picture is obviously the boat. This is on the leeward side of Ambergris where we did some wading. Middle picture is, Gordo to the left, me in the middle, and Jorge to the right. Jorge was my guide from Blue Bonefish Belize, and Gordo was his brother. Gordo was out with us to get some OJT to start guiding himself soon. Super dudes and we had a blast in spite of the weather conditions. Bottom picture is me and a bonefish. Had a great time and can't hardly wait to go back!

Mark

Looks like a great trip, thanks for sharing the photos.
What is going on with the buildings in the background on that middle photo, are those new buildings going up or a major facelift to the outside?

Larry, those are some high end condos going up between Coco Beach Resort and Belizean Shores Resort. There were still some signs of hurricane damage, mostly docks being rebuilt, random palm trees down, debris in unoccupied properties, etc. We were staying a few miles north of the bridge at Coco Beach.

Good deal - thanks!

Next trip, you might try farther south (South Water Caye Marine Reserve). Fewer folks down there and more fish.

But, fun everywhere in Belize.

Nice, Love the Blue Bonfish. Jim and Phylis run a great place. Fished with Jorge a couple days when I was there last year and had a blast. He is a good guy.

Heading back next year for another 5 days fishing with them.

Looks like fun

That boat looks really big, is that a standard size? Only been in the Keys once and on a much smaller boat if i remember correctly.

Pretty standard size for Belize. There are days where you will have to run an hour of off shore ocean to get from one spot to another, plus like a kayak the longer the boat (with in reason) the straighter and easier it will pole.

Its pretty unique how they build down there and how they put up "scaffolding" on the outside of the buildings when they are doing the stucco/concrete finish. Looks like just a bunch of tree branches lashed together but they get it done, lol.
